If I had to hazard a guess, the last version was the "true" version and the other two were treated more like "what if..." scenarios. I'm fascinated by the idea of infinite alternate worlds where each little choice we make (or don't make) breaks off into it's own timeline. Run Lola Run is like a look into that alternate timeline, where one tiny change has big consequences (also see: A Sound of Thunder - the original, not the 2005 film, which is pretty terrible). |
