Thanks, NE Kid.  !:]

I don't exactly know where the button of which you speak is located but if you point it out for me, I will use it in the future.

Like I said in a precious post some ways back, I've been watching a ton of movies lately both on DVD and in the theater and finally realized how much I adore Guy Ritchie movies.

I loved Snatch and recently watched Revolver & Rock n Rolla  which I'd say are killer great!

These films are something I could watch over and over and never tire of watching them -- especially Revolver at this point.  The word for it is enlightening.  I gathered a put together what I think might be the canonical list of quotes from the movie and those displayed in the credits/alternate ending -- which I want to post in a review here if I can ever get it written the way I want to write it.

But watching movies are writing reviews of them are kind of like living life and writing about it, it's d*mn near impossible to do both at the same time.  I find that I can write about life or live it, watch movies or write about them, but cannot do both at the same time.

So if linked text is the problem, no problem, here:

Gerry,

The films you noted: IN A BETTER WORLD, Tales From The Golden Age & Winter in Wartime sound like some pretty cerebral stuff -- and they seem like a potential life-line in the swirling sea of plastic, hi-jinx and happy horse pucks that are out there and seem to dominate the movie scene lately.

Kind of reminds me of the philosophy of A.K. the hero of the movie
Filth and Wisdom

-- a film that I loved, btw -- when he says:

"...if you spend your whole life as a saint, eventually you will crave the opposite, and the Filth will appear as an oasis in the desert. But if you spend you life in the gutter, sooner or later you will be searching for Wisdom. Like a pig sniffing for truffles. Filth and Wisdom - they're two sides of the same coin."

Watching the current glut of hoo-ha anything-goes gonzo cr*p movies is like living a life in the gutter -- one would hope that eventually people would be searching for some more satisfying brain food like a pig sniffing for truffles!

Oh, and if you haven't seen Filth & Wisdom, it's on DVD and I highly recommend it.

Eye - that's understandable. Usually all external links that are not using the link button in the forum post box, the posts are deleted. I would stick to using the link button. Do you know where that is? 09/16/2011

Well, Northeast Kid, I've used links before and so have some other people here, I've seen them and was unaware that we can't link to a trailer of a movie we are mentioning.

As far as being"spammy," I don't know what definition of "spam" would cover opinion writing about an on-topic subject.

The topic is recently watched DVDs and I acknowledged Gerry and his the films he mentioned and then mentioned one I was reminded of by the nature of the intelligence of his choices.

That's not any kind of spam that I know of.

Not sure exactly. I saw your post and noticed it looked a bit spammy and out of place. Did you use html? If you did, that is not allowed here. You can use the link button below if you want to add a link instead of typing in html or copying pasting from some place. 09/16/2011

So what happened to my post?!  Did I post it in the wrong place?

Was it moved to another area or just deleted and why?

Filth & Wisdom is available on DVD.  The fact that I watched it before I became a "member" here shouldn't detract from the fact it's a potential good watch on DVD.

I don't see any reviews on it on our site. Would you mind writing a review, even if it is short...? 09/15/2011

IN A BETTER WORLD. Won Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars and Golden Globes; and it won the audience award for best film at the Rome Film Festival. Definitely my favorite film of the last few years, possibly the last decade. Absolutely breathtaking in all aspects!
