Hi people,
Just a quick question for anyone to answer. I am making a horror trailer as part of my A2 coursework and would appreciate feedback from anyone.,
what elements would you like to see that would really scare you and encourage you to watch the film?
Thank you. x |

u ever noticed how a quick villain seems to be quite scary i.e the zombies in 28 days later, i remember having nightmares after seeing that film, also remember the scene from the remake of psycho, and i think it was in the original, where william h. macy gets to the top of the stairs then from a birds eye view 'mother' just springs out towards him ultra quick, that scene works so well on shock impact. i think bluntness is a good tool in horror films (as is subtlety) but too many films nowadays confuse being blunt with mindless gore which is why horror films today are so bad. also u noticed how a close camera shot emphasising the size of a butcher knife isnt scary, maybe nice to look at but not scary. however being subtle with the aesthetic elements of the movie usually works to better effect, like not seeing the rusty blade till its in your face. i hope im not rambling, im new to this site and im in love with it already. good luck, let me know what u think |
