Flashback.. I hope I didn't come off like a jerko.
You guys know that I have nothing but love. (Or I wouldn't still be here.)
I adore the site. I genuinely hope that I did not offend. |

The downside is that it does require some policing. You're bound at some point to get a bunch of kids who think it's "cute" to add questions like, "What's my favorite color?". Though I have to say, FilmCrave members so far seem like a pretty mature bunch. |

I'm a GoodReads member, too, and I really enjoy the Neverending Book Quiz on that site. I'd love to see a Neverending Movie Quiz on FilmCrave. Other than that, I love the site! Keep up the great work. |

What specific things do you enjoy at GoodReads.com that you think would fit filmcrave? |

I'm also a user of the Goodreads.com where they review thousands of books. I would love to see Filmcrave steal some of their ideas. |

Honestly they are showcased here more than on other sites I've seen. The lay out makes them much more clear and noticeable. (the way recent reviews are displayed on the home page, how they are neatly listed and prominent on each movie's page - rather than crammed at the bottom, hidden under useless clutter, and definitely by giving the option to view all of a users reviews separately from their star ratings.)
The point idea just seems like a way to "reward" those that put thought into their reviews and into making them more enjoyable to read, it may give people more of a reason to take the time to post here & read others opinions rather than wasting time on sites where the content means little & as a result are riddled with reviews like "me & my frEINDS thoght thiss ROCKED!!!!!!!!1!!"
Having to weed through such comments to get to something more informative can be a chore. |

Yes, coming up with a way to differentiate between good reviews etc...is very important, especially as we grow. Do you think the reviews are getting lost on this site? |

With so many excellent reviews and reviewers I've come across on the site, I just wondered if creating a way for readers/users to give and receive points (perhaps 1 point per) for well-written or enjoyable reviews, is possible. This would maybe provide an added way to rank contributors to the site, acknowledging those that post thoughtful, thorough, or simply funny reviews (more than the "was this helpful" function) This is something I have yet to see on other social film sites such as with flix-::ahem:: where reviews seem to just get lost.
Just an idea. Thanks guys, the forum turned out great! |
