Does anyone out there share the thouht that Revolutionary Raod was almost completely shunned by the Academy?  I find this film to be extraordinary.  It blows my mind that Leonardo Dicaprio did not receive a Best Actor nomination.  In fact, it angers me to teh point that I will not be watching the Oscars this year.  I shall, instead hold a Loenardo Dicaprio film fest in my living room.  I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and was so unimpressed with the acting and the chemistry between the actors.  Is this another "commercial" film choice?  Someone out there has to feel the same or feel freeto debate.

I agree.  I love this movie.  Deserved the globe for best drama.  I am not sure why it was not nominated.  I know that a lot of people thought there was over acting and that it was too depressing.  But, I thought it was quite good and I can't wait to see it again.  It makes me appreciated everything I have. 02/19/2009

Like the book.  I thought it blew.  It was boring, over acted and not a lot of fun to watch.  Why wast 2 hours of my life on it?  Not saying the reader was any better but Dark Knight could have been nominated. 02/19/2009

Well, I've made my comments in the movie thread, so I won't go into my criticism here, but realistically the only major nomination I could have seen it scoring was Kate Winslet for best actress.  She is the strongest thing in the movie, unfortunately I found most of the dialogue laughable.  I also didn't think Leo was that great in it either.  I'll give it noms for costume and art direction, the only believable part of the movie for me was how realistic they made 1955 look. 02/20/2009
