Iím not sure what to think about Edge of Tomorrow.

The whole Sci-Fi Groundhog day thing was already done to surprisingly good effect in Source Code.  The trailers look silly, and Tom Cruise hasnít had a lot of luck with the Sci-Fi genre as of late, or ever.

That said the early reviews are really good (95% on Rotten tomatoes,) and I really like Emily Blunt and MechSuits.

I basically canít decide weather Iím excited for this movie or fearfully wary of it.  What does everybody else think?  Do you think that Edge of Tomorrow will be good or terrible?

I don't understand why all the early buzz surrounding it has been bad - I think it looks like a solid sci-fi action film. I just hope it turns out better than Oblivion did - but the idea seems better this time around (Live. Die. Repeat - simple, effective). I think it will be worth a watch. 06/01/2014

I expect it will be good but not a classic. which tends to be most films lately of this type.
what i dont understand with cruise is he is actually a really good actor but all he seems to do is big blockbuster action type movies.
i wonder why he doesn't do what i call acting movies. when he has the ability.

i,ll watch it as i like themes like this movie. but you can kind of tell by the traliors its  just going to be entertaining.fun were see though

Good to know! I plan on watching it this weekend - so far reviews are running on the positive side, and that makes me think Cruise has finally found a decent sci-fi film to add to his filmography. And it's about time, too. 06/06/2014

I thought this was a good sci-fi/action film - certainly better than Oblivion. Surprised it didn't do better overall at the box office, but it deserves more respect than it received.

very surprised it didn't hit number 1 at the box office. i guess people are just a little tired of cruise and action flicks.
think he needs to do some real acting roles and flit between those and the more minastream action types .rathe than just do the same kind of hero parts.
though worldwide im sure it will do well. and box office takings dont really matter much when it comes to quality anyway. the biggest can be the poorest movies and the least can go on to be classics

I agree with you Smeagol.  Just because a movie doesn't make a lot of money that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be well remembered.  That said I still hope that "Edge" holds well over the next few weeks due to word of mouth.  If that happens it could pull a "Now you See Me" and become surprise hit. 06/10/2014

Sci-fi films have been disappoint of late - pretty much everything from Prometheus to Elysium has been a letdown (and I won't even get in to After Earth), so it's nice to find a film that exceeded my expectations for once. Still, I have a feeling that even with the good response it had gotten, the best chance for Edge of Tomorrow to really succeed depends on international numbers. That being said, you should go watch it if you haven't - it's worth the ticket. 06/12/2014

I for one have been telling all my friends and family to go see it.  I know it probably won't help, but I really want this movie to do well.  Chris is probably right on this one, the movie made 82 million overseas on it's first weekend (more then double what it made domestically,) so that's really were any hope for the movie is 06/12/2014
