I can sleep well tonight, now that the project is back on track with a lowered budget. Seriously, though, I'm glad the big issues were worked through and the project was not shelved. |

I forgot about Pirates. So one success in the last 10 years? Maybe a studio with more adult success will pick it up, that will be my hope. |

Disney took a chance with the Pirates films, and they turned out just fine. Even if they are afraid westerns don't have as much appeal, it seems like the wrong move. I have a feeling it will be picked up. |

True. But when was the last good live action movie from Disney? I loved Tron Legacy but you can hardly count that as typical Disney subject matter. All of the rest for the last 10 years have sucked anyway. |

This is sad news, as I had my eye on this for a while now. Disney still does not trust that Depp has a built-in audience that will follow him anywhere and everywhere. |

I saw that. Kind of disappointing. Maybe Miramax or someone associated/owned by Disney will pick it up. |

Looks like Hollywood golden boy Johnny Depp might not be able to save this one:

Maybe another studio will pick this up, but it's kind of up in the air at this point. |
