I originally watched this movie because I'm a big fan of Jim Gaffigan (and have been for many years). But it's a cute, underdog story. And like all underdog stories, the protagonist constantly get kicked down by the "better" kids. This movie doesn't reinvent the wheel, and I don't think it tries to. It's just a fun story that uses a tried and true formula.
