When I was a kid, I swear I imagined to be in their world and not them on our world. This is an ambitious project executed well ended up as a good treat to everyone, not only to huge fans of Pokemon but to some people like me who just happened to enjoy Pokemon during childhood.

While I'm not a huge Pokémon fan, this film was a lot of fun to watch - vibrant, funny and full of heart. The design aspect is excellent even if the story is a tad bit predictable. But as far as video game movies go - this is definitely one of the best ones out there and, fan or not, is worth watching, especially with the family.

Even if you're not a fan, the goofy "Detective Pikachu" might be likable enough to enjoy in spite of being a little slight, noisy, and predictable.

A funny heartwarming live action version of the Pokemon franchise, Detective Pikachu ranks up there with Jumanji 2 as one of the best video game movies ever. Ryan Reynolds loans his comedic talent as the fast talking critter as he helps protagonist Tim Goodman (a little too on the nose) solve a confounding mystery in a dazzling metropolis where humans and Pokemon live side-by-side.
There are notable actors in this movie but the real stars of the movie are the pocket monsters themselves, the CGI design is appropriately cartoon-like but grounded enough that some examples are quite lifelike, Pikachu himself being the standout. There is a surprising amount of adult humor that will fly over kids heads but older viewers will enjoy.
The nostalgia factor does work in its favor as long-time …

My Box Office Prediction

Opening: $100 Million
Domestic: $273 Million
Overseas: $618 Million
Worldwide: $891 Million

My Say: Honestly, I think this could be a pleasant surprise because the trailer has been mostly warmly received, The film will likley be a monster hit in Japan considering Pikachu And Pokémon are absolutely massive there. Plus Aquaman was a very pleasant Box Office surprise so never doubt anything.
