Plot Outline:

Small-town Baptist Marla Mabrey arrives in Hollywood in 1958 under contract to the eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes. Upon arrival, she is greeted by her personal driver, Frank Forbes, who is also a devout conservative. The two have a mutual attraction, but any romance would break Hughes' first rule of no employees dating contracted actresses. Yet as Hughes behavior becomes more and more unstable, it affects them all in unexpected ways. -- Chris Kavan

...you ain't wrong about that. I mean, a young Han Solo jizzed in his pants and Lily Collins doesn't have the personality of a salted cracker, as we thought. Warren Beatty took time off to come back for this? That's sad.

One of the most bizarre pet projects to come out of Hollywood in years, it's a shame to see Warren Beatty return in such a strangely structured yet ultimately pointless movie. He's actually quite good in the role of Howard Hughes and Lily Collins isn't bad herself. But the plot is less comprehensible than Batman versus Superman with all these characters and side-stories which go nowhere. If you watch the trailer and think it's a romantic comedy, it's not. The best movie I can compare it to is "Hail Caesar!" and if you didn't like that then you're gonna loathe Rules Don't Apply.
