In the first sequel in the "Kingsman" franchise, scenes of stylized action are few and far between, as if they've been replaced with drab subplots.

Gets an extra half-star merely for the surprisingly effective and hilarious cameo from Sir Elton John. In any case, if you're a fan of Matthew Vaughn's type of action and comedy, this is a good followup to the original. The car chase at the beginning and big shoot out at the end are perfect bookends, even if most of the new characters (Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges and Halle Berry) are rather wasted. Overall, still a fun romp and am still interested to see if a third film materializes.

I wish it could have been as action-packed as Secret Service. But the comedy compensated it. I love how it sticks with the theme of people getting addicted on something and it jeopardize whole of humanity. On Secret Service, it was the phone and how people wanted to get connected, now it's about the illegal drugs and grass. Still great!

A sequel in the worst sense of the word.

The first Kingsman was overpraised in my opinion. It was fun and had cool action. But it was Men in Black by way of James Bond. Yet it garnered such rave reviews while I was left baffled. Still, I'd say it's perfectly fine.
The sequel going by the GOLDEN CIRCLE is a remarkable step down in quality even from that. That the movie includes cyborgs, robot dogs, and a weird segment regarding inserting gadgets into a woman's vagina are the least of its problems. It's too long and cluttered and nonsensical.
Oddly, the movie tries to add an earnest love story between Eggsy and that princess he had sex with by the end of the first movie. It doesn't work with the gruesome violence and otherwise vulgar sense of humor.
It's a mess but a few things I did like. Namely the appearance of the …

Golden Circle - Movie Review

"F**k you!" - Quote by Academy Award Wining Elton John

I remembered back on it's release of the first Kingsman and how refreshing it was. Nothing about it broke any ground and isn't flawless, but manages to have a unique quality by taking well known troops in spy movies, and putting it's own spin. The villain was threating, another underdog story and it following old spy tropes. Basically things that could've been bad if put in the wrong hands, turned into a surprise hit.

"The Golden Circle" on the other hand is pretty much the adult version of Spy Kids. It focus more on jokes than brains. It dose what every sequel dose and that's try to be bigger and bolder. To be honest, it doesn't feel like Matthew Vaughn directed this and he normally avoids sequels, I now know why. Despite it …

Yes, I agree with you, they did a good job on the sequel and did not just try to milk the cow.

One of the more pleasant surprises for me, the original Kingsman was a lot of fun - didn't skimp on the violence, but actually had good characters and a story to back it up. The sequel looks like more of the same and I think it will be one of the better action films of the year.

Manners Maketh Man. This sequel looks great. It will be very interesting to see how they try to top the church fight from the first film
