Standard R rated action flick in the spirit of the cheesy popcorn films of the 1990s. Far better than Olympus Has Fallen.

Dumbest movie of the year. A sort of sequel to "Olympus Has Fallen" but this time the battlefield is moved to the UK. Especially to the metropolis of London. The same key figures were gathered again. Aaron Eckhart plays again the role of US President Benjamin Asher who managed to survive a terrorist attack by overzealous North Koreans in the previous film. And this with the help of the disgraced secret agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler). Morgan Freeman is back again to take over the President's tasks as Vice President as soon as Asher ends up in an awkward position. This time it's during the solemn funeral of the Prime Minister of England. The idea of Butler to hang his secret agent …

London Has Fallen has created its own new genre I'm referring to as "terrorism porn" in much the same way that movies like the Saw and Hostel series are "torture porn". If you like lots of action, things blowing up, people getting shot, stabbed and exploded - well, London Has Fallen will certainly fulfill your desires and then some.

The film takes place three years after the events of Olympus Has Fallen where disgraced Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butlter) saved President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) from certain death by taking down a White House full of bad men, with extreme prejudice. Angry Macho-ism

This unnecessary sequel to 'Olympus Has Fallen' doesn't try to do anything new. It's basically a much less entertaining retread of the first, with the exceptions being the change in geographical location and the addition of not being confined to one building. I thought 'Olympus' was average at best - a barely serviceable 'Die Hard'-formula action piece we've all seen before. Here, the silliness is dialed up on purpose and the result is a smug attitude towards it's brain-dead, patriotic, intentional camp that only served to avert my interest. There's nothing of noteworthy present amidst the entirely routine run-and-gun motif. Most of the action is presented with poor editing and even worse CG. The humor was also laden with this bad "macho American" stereotype, with a hint of racism …
