Reds

This film is quite problematic all thanks to the direction of Warren Beatty. Although the Russian revolution is most certianly an interesting film Beatty takes a far too sentimental and romantic view of the whole affair. He also does not hone in his picture well enough taking far too much time on the in fighting between in The American Socialist party that fails to ever become interesting. He also peppers in real interviews of people form that time that although is an interesting idea, it becomes more distracting than effective after awhile. His whole depiction of the romances of the two leads is never that interesting and their constant espousing of their ideologies becomes rather boring after awhile. Only a single performance overcomes the sentimentalism in the film which is from Jack N...
