Plot Outline:

In a post apocalyptic future where the United States has been decimated, civilization is reduced to small isolated town pockets and a ruthless dictator uses his army to terrorize the small towns, a lone drifter is captured and forced into service for this militia but escapes. Faced with the prospect of dying of starvation or of the elements he dons a old Postman uniform he found on a corpse and cons his way into a small town to get some food and shelter under the pretense of being a representative of a "Restored United States". But what little does he know that he is about to become a symbol of hope and inspiration that will change the fate of the entire country. -- Epic Fan

Three solid hours of a flag-waving Kevin Costner at his least bankable, a smattering of weak action and ermm...mail delivery. If the sound of that appeals then I suggest electro-shock therapy and heavy medication. Worse than Waterworld.

It's not a horrible movie. But, it's not a great movie either.

Best and Worst of a Cult Sci Fi Film

I won't lie; I hate Kevin Costner (his acting is pretty bad through out the movie) but Will Patton does a great performance for the main antagonist General Bethlehem. The movie is set in the future where a group of militants overthrow the United States government and take control. Kevin Costner plays a wondering vagrant who takes on the role of a postman and creates morale for rebuilding the United States and fighting the militants. There is even a random minor character role for Tom Petty. The battle scenes in this movie are really cool and it is very politically charged. The movie has cool parts and really ...

Checking out Field of Dreams ON Deman. Reminded me of this movie. I haven't seen this for 13 years. I hope it ages as good as Waterworld (amazing movie). I'll have to add it to my movies to see again list.
