The zany caper comedy to define all future zany caper comedies, "The Pink Panther" glides on Peter Sellers' knack for slapstick even if as a whole "The Pink Panther" is more iconic than great.

A comedy featuring the brilliant Peter Sellers and the always good David Niven and yet, this film hasn't aged well. I'm sure in 1964, it was probably groundbreaking, but in 2015 it just doesn't work. Peter Sellers randomly falling down just doesn't count as comedy anymore. This film is average at best.

Far more witty and subtle than the increasingly ham-fisted sequels and ill advised remakes, this is a pleasing caper movie, all the better for the presence of the debonair David Niven.
