Nicholas Cage can see a couple minutes into the future. FBI wants to use that ability. They have to catch him first. Throw in a love interest and terrorists with atomic bomb. |

A dud of a movie from start to finish. The acting is over-done, the plot is obvious and uninteresting, and some of the dialogue is plain laughable. An embarrassment for Philip K. Dick fans. |

Yeah... I pass. I was happy when I was about to see a Philip Dick's adaptation, but I was also cautious, since Lee Tamahori isn't a good director. So, in short, stay away from this flick. Is not good (I hope the book is better) |

A good idea that never pans out. I love the idea behind the film, but the actors just don't look that into it. Everyone looks like they're sleepwalking through their part. Some good effects help, but can't save the film. |

"Next" by Yojimbo |
|
Chris Johnson was born with the ability to see two minutes into his own future but chose to hide it in an attempt to lead a "normal" life, until FBI agent Julianne Moore decides that he is her best chance of foiling a terrorist plot to detonate a nuclear weapon in California. Next is a fairly generic sci-fi actioner based on an interesting premise taken from yet another Philip K. Dick story, but the upshot is that it's 24 with Hiro from Heroes standing in for Jack Bauer. There are a couple of flaws in the logic of the plot; the reason why Jessica Biel's pretty and pretty irrelevant character alters his ability and who the terrorists are and what it was they hoped to achieve are both completely ignored. What is left though is an entertaining action flick that ticks all the no-brainer boxes... |
