A reversal of the roles made iconic by Silence of the Lambs but not as exciting or suspenseful. What happens in this routine thriller places the police investigators' success in the hands of Ashley Judd, not Anthony Hopkins. Judd as it is revealed suffered at the hands of the story's downright sadistic villains and naturally has an axe to grind (and hopefully roll some heads off with it). Morgan Freeman gives an okay performance but really this movie makes little effort to be well-done instead of well-made.

Decent mystery that kept me involved, even if I'd seen this all before. The twist was good.

I felt this could have been better with the write script and marketing. Morgan Freeman always selects decent to great films. I have no doubt Ashley Judd is one of the most underrated actresses around. I wonder where she is. Anyways, this film's mood was dark, and the method of shooting the film. Maybe if there were more scenes that had action ala Silence of the Lambs or Bone Collector. Overall, it wasn't a boring film, it just needed a little more going on.

Morgan Freeman is a forensic psychiatrist investigating the abduction of a group of young women in this purely by the numbers serial killer flick. One of the many, many copycats that followed the success of Silence Of The Lambs and Seven, there is absolutely nothing here that you haven't seen at least a dozen times before. The plot gimmicks including the fact that he is aided in his investigation by one of the would be victims and the addition of a second killer are as fatuous as you'd expect from this kind of dim-witted airport lounge literature inspired story, and of course the master criminal suddenly becomes a complete imbecile to set up the inevitably melodramatic showdown. It's competently directed and Morgan Freeman's measured and mature performance saves it from becoming complete …
