Gaspar Noe does not set out to please viewers - he has his vision and if you don't like it, move along. Irreversible is about how we can't change time - working in reverse it shows up consequences of actions - small things lead to devastating results. The worst comes early, but the pleasant ending (really the beginning) only makes it hurt deeper. |

I really did not like this movie. The idea of starting with the end of the story and finishing with the end is intresting but the movie itself was really bad I had to skip some scene (a lot of them) |

this movie is totally sucks. its a shame for this art. i dont know why people likes this movie so much but i am sorry this movie should be forget and never remember. certainly disgraceful directing and acting. |

Bad bad bad... Not even original. Nothing here is good. The movie itself is prepared for gets you sick (do some research about it, and you'll see) Can't see the point of the rape scene, and after the filmmaker takes your guts off, pretends to be "moral" with a "thought provoking" ending. Give me a break.

A young woman is brutally raped in a subway tunnel provoking huge discussions between beret wearing chin strokers as to whether or not it's art. This film is most definitely well acted, particularly I'd have to say by Monica Belucci who I never really considered a great actress before, but she is totally believable which is why the ordeal she endures is even more difficult to stomach. The rape scene is truly horrific; I genuinely believe that sensationalism was not the aim, and its brutal realism is almost unbearable. But what of the rest of the film? The story is told in reverse, but I couldn't really see the reason why beyond disguising the minimality of the plot. Were we supposed to be MORE horrified by what we'd seen after we'd gotten to know some personal details about the victim? Th... |

A completely misunderstood film............
I even heard that people walked out of the theatre when this film was first shown....
Irreversible is a story told from finish to start. It is about a young man seeking revenge for a few wrong decisions that he did which led to a brutal assault on his girlfriend.
A strategically presented movie, which shows how much we want to redo things that has happened. As the film progresses,viewers get the feeling, "he should not have done that" knowing the result of the actions shown earlier in the film.
As other films tend to give a feeling of relief to the audience, Irreversible gives a feeling of regret. When every scene takes a turn to the past, elements are unfolded which makes the awful things that happen to the character heavier.
