Plot: The last words Sammy Ayres' mother every says to him are "Not one more word out of you." as they ride the bus to a new life. When he wakes up in the morning, however, his mother is gone and the bus is at the end of the line. He takes his mothers advice to heart and grows up at the bus station, pretending to be deaf and dumb. As an adult, he continues the charade until events arise in his adopted town which force him to choose between justice and silence.
