This was the very first film of both Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix. Ben Crandall (Ethan Hawke) dreams of becoming a space traveler and creates a ship with Wolfgang (River Phoenix), and Darren (Jason Presson). The idea was fresh and effects decent at that time. Explorers is a delightful sci-fi adventure that entertains despite its simple premise.

This was entertaining to watch as a kid. I also remember watching it many times but haven't seen it recently. I thought it would have been better if the aliens killed them or something at the end, but they can't end great...

I remember this being a really great movie growing up. I would watch this movie very often, thinking of how great it would be to actually be these kids. It has humor, good sci-fi elements, and a decent story. I have not seen it in 10 years.
