Maybe this movie is better if you see it as a kid, but watching it as an adult was incredibly disappointing. It's unbearably cheesy and the plot has no payoff.

This was the very first film of both Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix. Ben Crandall (Ethan Hawke) dreams of becoming a space traveler and creates a ship with Wolfgang (River Phoenix), and Darren (Jason Presson). The idea was fresh and effects decent at that time. Explorers is a delightful sci-fi adventure that entertains despite its simple premise.

This was entertaining to watch as a kid. I also remember watching it many times but haven't seen it recently. I thought it would have been better if the aliens killed them or something at the end, but they can't end great...
