As far as I'm concerned, this is a very underrated movie. The best part of it is the little plot twist at the end. You're really not expecting it.

This drama starts out strong with an engrossing story and interesting characters, but the final hour fizzles into a darker side with phony symbolism and some unnecessary violence; the performances by Edward Norton, David Morse, Rory Culkin and Evan Rachel Wood really help. Final Grade: C+

Edward Norton finds another great character going from aw-shucks, good 'ole boy to unhinged aw-shucks good 'old boy as the film rolls along. He works well with Evan Rachel Wood in a creepy romance kind of way.

Norton and Wood do wonders on screen together. The plot is simple, but it works. I liked the relationship build and the end result, but it did kind of mis step at times. With an open mind, this film can be enjoyed.
