I could have done without some of the melodramatic backstory, but the strong romance between the leads is compelling and the film has its share of captivating dance sequences, including the famous "Time of Your Life" lift.

Dirty Dancing is a great dance movie. Lots of big numbers and fun music. The story is entertaining though completely silly. Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze have great chemistry. The movie never really seems to get dated either and continues to trill teenage girls from all generations.

This flick made thousands of us high school girls swoon! Swayze is hot and the romance is intense -- even given that Jennifer Gray is not hot herself.

Who couldn't love this film?! It's a timeless classic with a killer soundtrack. What could be better?
