This is one of those rare, confusing films that features so much misguided talent in the hollow shell of a horrible movie. Movie 43 is nowhere near the worst film ever made, but it's certainly laughless and pointless. The series of vignettes seem to be employed for the purpose of shocking the audience with their vulgarity, but, without any heart or humor to back it up, they come up as pointlessly offensive (with the exception being the Terrence Howard-starring basketball sequence, which is mildly amusing.) The result is like a bunch of recycled R-rated SNL rejects and is not good. The most confusing thing, as has been often noted, is the dearth of A-list talent that were somehow convinced to appear and embarrass themselves on screen. |

Nice Concept, Still. |

An insane writer pitching crazy movie plots to a producer with big stars on his mind.
***
I knew from the very start of this film, very few audience would appreciate this one. I am one of those who always see the good on crappy movies. At first, I had really bad time digesting everything and checking what this movie offered good to its goers. The story segments were really really offensive, unbelievable and... whatever. Watching the trailer again before doing this review, I felt like I haven't seen the real picture. I THINK, it is about the reality. The reality that we do have these kinds of movies that are story-wise crappy, only have the famous and BIG STARS of the Hollywood. AND... like that! I'm not really sure if I am actually getting it right.
I always love the idea of fi... |

Movie 43 review |
|
One word can be describe for this so-called film, POINTLESS! This coming from a reviewer who never uses all caps in reviews. One of many offensive scenes that was very distasteful and crude: Kids as machines, naked women as "iBabes," a midget (leprechaun) being assaulted, blow the birth day cake of a blind boy, have somebody look Asian, racist remarks before a basketball game, in a truth or dare date game, and the atrocious tirades are endless. It starts with the "balls" on the neck of Jackman in which Winslet notices, the husband of Watts tease their delirious gay son, Anna Faris wants to be pooped on, the iBabe ad, grotesque and overly stupid concepts go on and on. First three stories will make you squirm not in terror, but in how idiotic the whole movie was. If the conclusion was ... |

really bad |
|
Holly crap was this bad, really bad, horrifyingly bad. I thought I was pretty savvy, I thought that a little crude humor couldn’t faze me, but god was I wrong. After seeing Movie 43 I immediately went home and took a shower, because after leaving the theater I felt literally dirty.
It’s not really the crudeness of the movie that makes it nigh unwatchable; it’s the fact that the comedy isn’t as much funny as it is surprising. I’ve probably seen cruder humor other movies but it has never been used so badly. The movie is made in a way that the crude humor is the focus of the film, not characters or story, so much so that they don’t even bother to end the film, it just sort of stops. The recent 21 and Over was crude (though not as crude as Movie 43) but it still had a plot and charact... |

It has been getting terrible reviews - in the realm of "worst movie I have seen" quality. I think the biggest hit against it is that the sketches are vulgar, gross, crass and just not all that funny (by most accounts - I have yet to see it myself). Just because there is talent involved doesn't mean it's any good - though I could see this attain a certain cult status considering how bad so many people say it is. |

Based off the trailor, i have no idea what this movie is about, it looks like it will be a fail it has a star studded cast but often some of those movies flop i just checked on rottentomatoes and its rating was 4% which is terrible Ill wait till it comes to dvd before i take a shot at it because it just looks dull so we'll see hopefully im wrong, not many good comedies have came out lately |

Chalk this one up in the failed category. Comedy variety is hard to pull off and apparently going for the gross-out factor isn't a ticket to success. Now one has to wonder how many people involved are going to list this on the low point of their careers. |

I've got high hopes for this one, because the trailer did make me laugh-out-loud. I like sketch comedies, but I do agree that many end up failing. We'll just have to see. |
