Plot Outline:

While in Turin, Italy, German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche witness a horse being whipped by a carriage diver and throws his arms around it - soon after this scene he collapses and is diagnosed with a mental disorder that will leave him bedridden for the next 11 years until his death. But what of the horse? The film follows animal and owner - as he struggles with making a living while watching as his aged, sickly horse does all it can to sustain his livelihood. -- Chris Kavan
