While I liked this movie I didn't think "ZOMG! This is the funniest movie ever!111!!" Certain parts were really good and the cameos were the best part (watch for a hilarious split-second DVD commentary from Ted Danson that is gold!) - plus the Flash Gordon himself Sam J. Jones, a creepy Giovanni Ribisi, Norah Jones, an uncredited Ryan Reynolds and he even got Patrick Stewart to narrate. Overall, it will make you laugh - but hopefully you like Seth MacFarlane's brand of humor - although it is great to see Mark Wahlberg fight a teddy bear and cold-cock a kid.

I laughed throughout this movie. It is very funny and Mark Wahlberg is truly growing on me in his comedy rolls (The Other Guys). It is much more light hearted than the darker 'Wilfred'. Its a buddy-movie that just involves a teddy-bear. I was a little surprised with how well the movie was done. It is worth the watch for the laughs, the love, the boozin, and to see Mila Kunis. Must watch for men.

F*** You Thunder!

Essentially a live action version of Family Guy, with even a few of those great cut-aways. There is even a reference to the fact that Ted sounds like Peter Griffin. All of the key players are featured in this film, if even for a scene. The weakest link was probably Mark Wahlberg. Now, I'm not a huge fan of "Marky Mark," but, I know that he can do better. As some have noted below, there are some flaws with the script, but that's to be expected for this type of film. It's not going for prestige. I thought this was a good and original first effort from Seth MacFarlane. I'm excited to see what he does on the Oscar's broadcast.

SPOILER ALERT: When Ted comes back to life at the end, they should have kept him retarded with a huge scar running through his midsection.

Hope You Like Family Guy

Have you ever watched Family guy and wished it had more cursing? Then this is the movie for you. I really enjoyed the crude humor in the movie but it did get a little old after the one hour mark. What did surprise me was that the story was well thought out executed very well. This could have been a horrible movie full of crude humor but instead it was a very watchable movie full of crude humor. I have to give Seth MacFarlane credit for that. If he can turn out some better stories and tone done the crudeness he could make some really good movies in the future. I also can not ignore the actors. Mark Wahlberg played a bumbling buffoon very well but my favorite part was Joel McHale as the slimy boss. Joel McHale can play an arrogant ass like nobody else. In the end if you can't get past some ...

Mcfarlane never fails in making me laugh

Ok that was one foul mouthed teddy bear...so where can i get one? When i had originally heard that the master of the mst funniest tv show on the planet(Family Guy) Seth Mcfarlane was making a feature film i imediatly assumed it was for Family Guy. Then i slowly started to see the trailers for Ted upon their release and lmao!! Just got back from the drive-in after seeing this with The Dark Knight Rises and it did not dissapoint(Not that i thought it would either) The movie made up to all my expectations laugh wise and i am now anticpating owning the blu ray when it gets released as im sure this is a movie much like the comedic great Borat that i can watch 100 times and still laugh like originally viewing it.

Mark Wahlberg is one of my all time favorite actors, who i must say having my...

I'm not sure if my expectations were too high.  I didn't even want to see the movie at first.  The positive word-of-mouth sort of changed my mind momentarily.  I think it just comes down to the fact that all of the humor was so much in the style of Family Guy and I'm not a fan of the show's humor most of the time.  Thats about the main reason I can come up with for not favoring this film as much as everyone else.

Maybe one should not read reviews/plots or have high expectations when watching films.  At first I thought the idea of a bear coming to life was ludicrous.  From the very start it already caught my attention.  A second viewing may change your view, especially with your good taste in comedies.  Personally, I just enjoy the humor of Family Guy, which  guess rubbed off during my viewing.  Humor may vary depending on your mood or taste I guess.

I'm surprised that my review is actually the most negative, on the site, at this time.  I generally love comedies.  Especially ones with good concepts such as this.  I expected to maybe bust a gut or two, but Ted just didn't deliver for me.  Am I missing out on the humor, or is it okay that I didn't laugh as much?  'Cause I have yet to meet someone that didn't find this movie less than hilarious.

Always look forward to your reviews - if nothing else, the movie looks like a lot of fun. It looks like it may be neck and neck with Magic Mike for the weekend, but it has just a little edge. We'll see where it winds up.
