In the year 1988, a young Katie and Kristi live with their mother, Julie, and her boyfriend, Dennis. Kristi, the younger sister of Katie, plays with an imaginary friend named Toby. Dennis, a wedding videographer, decides to install self made cameras in their spooky new home while Katie jokes around with a Bloody Mary game with Randy, a friend of Dennis. It had a few surprising moments especially the babysitter, the bathroom scene and deformed face of Katie. Paranormal Activity 3 was definitely better than the dull 2nd installment, but doesn't bring anything fresh on the table despite the sincere performances of the kids.

The film's the same, but it still will be good for a few jumps and tense moments. The story established in the first two films continues in this prequel to the hugely successful franchise. By now you can pretty much sense when something is going to jump out at you and make you jump. To be honest, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first two, as the story is getting pretty out there, but there were some good moments that surprised me. Unfortunately, the adults in this franchise just get dumber in each movie. Still good for a watch though.

Well this is wayyy better then the second installment that's fer sure!! A prequel of sorts that has the audience learning how the poor sisters (Katie and Christy) ever came upon these horrible entities that follow them around. The film starts with Christy and her husband(he's filming this scene of course) painting their yet to be born child's room when sister Katie comes over for a visit asking if she can store some boxes at their place as she no longer has any room. Christy's husband helps Katie with the boxes noticing that they are filled with old VHS tapes. The filming then breaks and when it re-starts we now see Christy and her husband looking somewhat despaired as they survey(and film) their house after a supposed break in, the only thing missing , so it seems is Katie's box of …

Paranormal Activity, '80's style

Am I missing something? These movies are just awful. I watch them, hoping in vain that for once I will have to sleep with my light on, maybe have a nightmare.. With these movies I barely get a chill up my spine.
I didn't like the first movie. If I could have just watched the last twenty minutes or so, I might have liked it. But watching people sleep and brush their teeth to get to those last minutes was torture. The second movie, I actually thought was a little better. Again, decent ending and a few jumps here and there. Standard semi-annoying cast, more sleeping, etc.
Enter Paranormal Activity 3. Viewers are promised this will explain it all! The DVD case warns that the last several minutes will mess you up for life! For life! 'Now, that's what I'm talkin' about!' I think to myself, …

Leave the Past Behind? I Don't Think So

While some franchises wear out their welcomes rather quickly, the Paranormal Activity franchise shows it still has a way to keep things fresh while sticking to the game plan that worked so well in the first two films.

I have to say I really liked the minimalist approach the original took and was a bit disappointed in the sequel. However, this third entry, while not breaking any new ground, still manages to flesh out the story only hinted at in the first two films while maintaining that creeping dread. Although I found the ending to be somewhat anti-climactic (luckily not as terrible as The Last Exorcism) the story leading up to it was a lot of fun.

We're introduced to the young Katie and Christi - along with Christi's imaginary friend, who new dad in the family, Dennis (who, …
