Deeply dull witness thriller as Susan Sarandon gets in touch with her motherly side protecting a stereotypical kid from a broken home with the ubiquitous southern drawl from the usual suspects. |

Looking back on my life, I realize my parents let me watch a lot of odd things as a child...this is one of those movies that I was allowed to watch that I probably shouldn't have been able to watch. However, I loved this movie. Brad Renfro as a child in search of safety and the two lawyers who entangled in a web of justice...the magic is brilliant. |

A decent enough adaptation that is more than just another thriller thanks to the excellent casting - Susan Surandon, Tommy Lee Jones, Brad Renfro - all at the top of their games. The story and star power combine for a great film. |
