A tour de force performance by a young Ricky Schroder highlights this dramatic remake of a young boy, his estranged mother and his alcoholic, has been boxer dad. The leads are excellent in their roles and get your hankies out for the ending! For its time some of the scenes are quite daring. Voight, Funaway and particularly Schroder should have brought in the new decade with Oscars! |
