Gory and thrilling remake of the fifties sci-fi classic. Boasting a more cynical attitude than the original movie, this version stages more surprising and grisly death scenes thanks to the impressive visual effects. Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith are adequate as the plucky teenagers that save the day. But the more captivating performances are from Jeffrey DeMunn playing a wise sheriff and Joe Seneca as a shady scientist.

Completely stupid and cringe-worthy remake. Skip this one. I was bored to tears, the effects look awful, and the dialogue, plot, acting, all of it was nonsense and trash.
