After an accident took from him his sight and his love, writer Mateo Blanco increasingly turns to his pseudonym, Harry Caine, eventually erasing all traces of his old life. But what begins as a simple bedtime story for a child turns into an emotional roller-coaster, forcing him to once again face his true self. -- Chris aka Tarkin

Broken Embraces

Pedro Almodovar does it again. However, he has done something he has never before: started to repeat themes and circumstances that you can find in his other films. The film within the film Girls and Suitcases has a situation completely lifted from his 1988 film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. The great thing is that if you're familiar with his films, you will see actresses that he uses regularly: Chus Lampreave, Rossy de Palma, Lola Dueñas, Ángela Molina, and of course the lead, Penelope Cruz.

The story makes is intriguing and the plot is full of tension that make this a unique romance/thriller. The ending is powerful, and there is enough humor to keep the film from dragging or being boring.
