Plot Outline:
|
A funny look at little league baseball in Southern California. Former minor player Morris Buttermaker is a lazy drunk who takes money to coach the Bears, a bunch of misfit kids who have virtually no talent. Coach Buttermaker brings a girl pitcher Amanda Whurlizer, the daughter of a former girlfriend and a punk kid who happens to be the best player around.

One of the original, and hence better, underdog-sports-comedies. It's crude, but a suitable family film (for older children) and it has a good message under all the beer-swilling, bad-mouthing and dirty plays. |

This is a terrific movie! A real classic and quite cutting edge for its time (or so I am told). Lewd children? Drunken coaches? Whats not to like? This is both a family (for older children) and sports classic. It is about baseball after all. If you haven't seen it you really should. |
