Weirdly off-kilter suspense drama that I think was meant to be a horror movie. But it feels more like a three-ring melodrama that happens to have a killer on the loose. But its circus footage is actually quite interesting and the perfomers' live actions are entertaining whether it be the trapeze artists or the lion tamer or the poodle trainer. Joan Crawford is not phoning it in and the cast of circus performers are all colorful side characters. The mystery isn't particularly well thought out but it is fun trying to pick up the clues available.

Since it had Joan Crawford in it, I expected it to be good but Berserk was just something to waste time on & what a lousy ending
