Better than I would have thought, but not good enough. A few intense moments can't save this from being a mostly money-minded idea to bring fan boys into the theater.

Decent fan service, if nothing else...

Meh, what did you really expect? There's the Aliens... that part of the movie is pretty predictable. The Predator... again, pretty much what you'd expect. Then there are the humans... a bit too much of them, if you ask me, but they needed a big cast to keep the death count for the movie up.

I'd say the biggest problem with this movie was that it didn't quite get enough of a dose of either film it pulled from...

*spoilers*

It was sad that there were three predators at the start of the movie and two of them died before the end of the first action sequence. I was really looking forward to a movie that featured predators working together.

Also, the Aliens just didn't quite 'cause enough carnage. I could have taken one more like... chase through the temple with an Alien and a ...

35%

Action: 1.5/3 + Comedy: 0/2 + Good vs Evil: 0.5/1 + Love/Sex: 0.5/1 + Special Effects: 0.5/1 + Plot: 0.5/1 + Music: 0/1 = 3.5/10 or 35%.

I'm not basing this write-up on my love of the comics- it is far too easy to point out the superiority of the Dark Horse series. Not one single thing in this film is likeable though and when experimenting with combining horror/sci-fi legends always remember this: Aliens is A-class material, despite the atrocities of part 3 and most of 4, the first 2 are genuine classics. Predators are popular, but they are B-material babies all the way. Predators are in the same league as Freddy vs Jason. Schlok, fun, slightly scary alpha-males. Predator vs Jason vs Freddy would have been a schlok riot.

Instead though, the Predators are static. We saw them accept D...

At least it's not "Freddy vs. Jason"

Two of the most popular modern-day movie monsters square off in this highly anticipated, though somewhat weak, motion picture.

A millionaire (Lance Henriksen) hires a group of archaeologists and other experts to investigate a pyramid which lays 2,000 feet below the surface of Antarctica. What they find are two alien species -- one a hunter, the other its prey.

They also discover that the pyramid has moving walls and chambers which cut them off from one another. They then discover, after many have died from being killed by mainly the ones we know as the Alien, that the Predators have kept an Alien Queen so it could produce offspring for the Predators to hunt for practice.

The movie is very slow moving, and does not have much of a good build to the first appearance by the extrat...
