This movie is about the "3 S's" of assassination - suits, sunglasses and silencers. It is extremely cliché, but it works somehow since everyone seems to be perfect in their roles. Banderas is a suave up and coming assassin who is desperate to become #1. Stallone is an aging "good guy" assassin who is defending his title, while promising to do "one last job" before retiring. He has a tragic past of having had to assassinate a former colleague and must deal with betrayal, romance, and a chess playing mastermind. Even though there is no real humor in the film, it is funny because it is such an archetypical assassin movie. The acting and action are great as well. |
