Don't bother

This movie had one of the most misleading trailers in recent memory. I suppose the one positive thing that could be said about it is that it is somewhat original. The movie begins documentary style then transitions somewhere into a regular movie as if the director forgot a 1/3rd of the way through how he was shooting it. If it were to be shot regularly why bother with the documentary style to begin with? The plot itself is quite far feched, they need to blatantly explain key plot points throughout the movie, even so it explains very little. Such as why the ship broke in the first place, why if all the aliens are feeble, unthinking worker drones yet there is apparently a genious among them, you would think in the 20 years they were on the planet the one that was actually able to think woul...

a humane look at aliens

not just your typical sci-fi film. It's about race relations and how we view race today. The aliens are treated like Native Americans put into reservations and are about to be moved to another relocation camp. It also has hints of the way we treat Hispanics, just wanting them to "go home." It's a thinking man's science fiction film, not just one for fans, but one the public can enjoy. The special effects are first rate, as you would come to exspect from Peter Jackson. As I've said before, I'm not a big sci-fi fan, but this is definately a must see.

One of the Best Alien Films

District 9 puts racism to the extreme, giving details of the grim lives of aliens living on earth. At first, I believed that the movie wouldn't live up to its hype and it would fall, without grace, right onto the ground. I'm happy to say that I was wrong: District 9 put up a wonderfully showing of both story and characters, making the film one of the best science fiction films I've seen in a long time.

District 9 follows the events around a MNU agent, who is in charge to taking the aliens out of district 9, and putting them into district 10, so the aliens and humans can live a more peaceful life. The story begins slowly, explaining how the aliens got to earth and how they started to live on the surface with the humans. Although the information makes the story a little easier to follow,...
