I have NEVER understood the general public's love affair with Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler just isn't funny. But because this film had a decent premise and the ever watchable Jack Nicholson going for it, I thought I'd give it a go. But guess what? ADAM SANDLER JUST ISN'T FUNNY. |

The poster for this movie basically says it all. Sandler and Nicholson butt heads. There are some laughs, but It starts to get old after a while. |

The pairing of one of the best actors and a popular comedian could have been enough. This flick could have been better with the right script, score, and cinematography. Not all comedies are effective because it tries too hard in bringing out the humor. Adam Sandler's character was not romantic enough, Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the anger management coach was The Shining-like. If only the main leads had better roles, screenplay and utilized the talents of the cast (Tomei, Guzman, Allen, Turturro), then this could have been a memorable pairing. It has some hilarious moments, overall it was not that entertaining nor romantic. So much potential, so little to give. |

Typical Adam but don't expect too much! |

Adam Sandler portrays Dave Buznick, a man with his emotions under tight control, even when it comes to committing to his long-term girlfriend (Marisa Tomei). An altercation on a plane finds Dave in court and he is sent by the judge to Dr. Buddy Rydell for 20 hours of anger management classes. Dr.Rydell has unorthodox techniques including making his patients sing 'I Feel Pretty' which creeps Dave out, but he must deal with Rydell or else he will be sent to jail. For his part, Jack Nicholson is as manic as ever and gives every impression of being certifiably insane. Adam Sandler plays the repressed role well, and Jack Nicolson is a ridiculously good conman. Also in this movie are Woody Harrelson as a cross-dresser, Heather Graham as a former patient of Rydell's, John C. Reilly as Buznik's c... |
