Bruno is just an unlikable character. The flick tries too hard to bring out the laughs. Not even close to Borat, unfortunately this one misses its mark. A few laughable scenes, still everything was quite pointless. |

Although it's interesting how Sasha Baron Cohen manages to con people into revealing their latent homophobia, the movie really amounts to one two-hour-long gay joke and, after a few minutes, that gets pretty old, fast. It's missing the variety and freshness of Borat, since we're now familiar with most of Cohen's bag of tricks. |

There were a few funny moments in this film, but overall, many scenes were either too ridiculous to find funny, too staged, or way too forced. Cohen throws everything in to his character of Bruno and tries desperately to create uncomfortable moments for his unknowing victims, but in the end, a majority of it just isn't natural enough to find funny. It's relatively short so it doesn't drag on forever, but watch Borat again rather than sitting through this. |

This movie was hilarious. Sacha Baron Cohen is an absolute clown. Bruno is inappropriate in so many ways, but you cannot take your eyes off of it. This is comedy. |

It'll Make You Laugh, Cringe, Double-Take and More |

It's hard to say Bruno is actually good. The movie stand alone, if it came before Borat, would be awful. Since Borat was a hit, and now Cohen can be recognized easily, it's obvious that this movie would be terribly offensive. Whether you're homosexual, or were shocked by the jokes, the movie takes it too far. Possibly the farthest I've ever seen a movie take it. The content is disturbing, the plot is borderline, and the acting pushed. All this, makes an entertaining type of mockumentary from european stylist BRUNO.
Bruno is a fashion designer who is the host of a hit austrian tb show. Bruno gets fired, and from there takes his assistant's assistant to venture America and become famous.
This movie'll make you shield your eyes from the profane content either discussed or depicted. It'... |

Ok, so I think this might be funnier than Borat. Maybe. I have high hopes for this. & aparantley he interviews Paula Abdul, & has her sitting on some German male models; should be interesting. |
