Not sure why anyone was impressed with this piece of trash. Was trying to figure out this drivel. It's like Le Notti Bianche with a happy ending tacked on. Um, no thanks. 5/10

A surprise. Joaquin Phoenix does a great job and I am sad to see him "retire." It was well acted, well paced, and a solid movie. For those of you who desire deep dramas, this is worth checking out as a cheap rental. Not your average movie.

Die Beziehung zwischen Sandra und Leonard ist merkwürdig; ich meine, sie ist von ihrer Seite aus gestört. Leonard hat ein mentales Problem und benötigt Medikamente. Es ist nichts Gravierendes, doch derzeit lebt er bei seinen Eltern. Ich denke, Sandra kennt ihn und trotzdem gesteht sie ihm, dass sie ihn liebt und helfen will. Leonard (Joaquin Phoenix) aber ist ganz auf seine inneren Dämonen fixiert. Seine Verlobte verliess ihn und deshalb sitzt er nun wieder in seinem Kinderzimmer. Er arbeitet für seinen Vater in der Wäscherei und beliefert die Kunden. Sandra (Vinessa Shaw) kommt aus der Nachbarschaft von Brooklyn und ist die Tochter der anderen Wäscherei in Familien Hand. Ihr Vater will nun das befreundete Unternehmen kaufen und deshalb wäre eine Hochzeit für beide Seiten …
