I think I get the general idea of what was happening, but it never felt quite right. I did like the characters - Catherine Keener as the ice-cold studio head, Bruce Willis as a bearded version of... himself. But Hollywood poking fun at itself? Just not natural. |

I understand this movie but it didn't deliver. I would love to see this same cast in a movie but the complete opposite of this one..... A movie that's actually good. It felt very rushed. I felt like someone came up with the idea, wrote it down on paper really fast, walked down the street, and made the movie. I would have really like to see either Neil Burger or Alexander Payne direct this film. The story had potential if it just slowed down. One more thing.....I would have kept the dog alive..... If you see it, you will know what I am talking about. |

What Just Happened? review |

Ben (Robert DeNiro) is a major Producer who needs his film to become successful. The film he produced includes Sean Penn. Another project is made and Bruce Willis is targeted to be the lead. Ben also needs to patch up with his wife so they attend counseling. Bruce Willis and his beard issue was funny. In my perception, the screenplay was flat, there were not enough admirable scenes for John Turturro and that the plot was to thin. Even the soundtrack was insufficient using another film’s score in one scene. What Just Happened boasts of the star power and cameos but is not enough to keep it that interesting. In the end, you will ask yourself with the picture's title, since it went by so fast without appealing ones craving for a good Hollywood related flick.
