There is an attempt to wake up an emperor and its terracotta warriors. Better Indiana Jones like sets and grandiose costumes. Muck like the rest of the series, acting was over the top, coy lines and humor was not effective. Pace of the story moved very very slow. Effects were the only thing interesting in this picture. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor's overall output was dull and lacked charm. |

Even taking this tired franchise to a new location can't save it from what it is - mindless action, cheap jokes, historical inaccuracy, zero scares, and Brendan Fraser's painful rubber face method of over-acting. |

This sequel should have stayed buried. |

The first two Mummy movies were far from action masterpieces, but when you compare them to this crappy film, they seem like Oscar contenders. The movie lacks the central chemistry that made the first two films fun and charming and without the director Stephen Sommers or Rachel Weisz playing Evie, what the point of making another movie? Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh are completely wasted in their roles. The action sequences are warmed over leftovers from The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Luke Ford was a bad choice to pick for the 21-year-old son, Alex. I found him quite annoying to watch. I think the worst mistake of all they made was recasting the leading female. If for some reason the actress/actor who carried the role in the first two movies can't or won't come back for... |

A Complete Waste of Time |
|
It’s difficult to decide which aspect of the film is most ridiculous. I suppose it could be the title, which is misleading. There isn’t actually a mummy in the film. Sure, there are ancient figures raised from the dead, but they’re more like cursed zombies than mummies. Unless they cut out the actual mummification process, that is. Regardless of the villain’s post-life status, Li pales in comparison with the evil and all-powerful Imhotep. Aside from the desire to rule and control all, there’s really nothing to the Emperor. And how exactly he got all his magical powers is really anybody’s guess.
The other newcomers don’t fare very well either. Although Maria Bello is a fine actress in her own right, she seems next to useless trying to fill Weisz’s shoes. The key ingredient to the succes... |

Letdown,Letdown,Letdown. This is Awful. |

I like The first mummy movie of the series, yuh know why? because it was a decent movie. It wasn't even really good. The sequel was just as good and the third film of the Mummy Franchise, 'Tomb of the Dragon Emperor', is f***in' awful.
They changed O'Connell's wife and switched up for another actress, and brought it down just a bit from that. There was nothing wrong with his original wife. The original director of the Mummy Series was fine too. But Rob Cohen destroyed the series as we know it. Pointless action, Yetis, and China seem like a cool mummy concept, but now that it's here, Egypt was the way to go.
I was tempted to leave half-way through because it was such a letdown. Even humongous fighting scenes didn't keep me in that theatre long enough, This movie CANNOT keep it's bala... |
