Yup...Its Defiance

Defiance is a very well made important World War 2 movie thats based on a true story. I wont say too much about it plot wise because Defiance is one of those movies thats better if you see it without knowing too much about what the film is about. Director Edward Zwick the man behind films like Blood Diamond, The Last Samurai, and Courage Under Fire does a great job of bringing this true story to the big screen because it deserves to be told. The movie is about four Jewish brothers who escape into the Belarussian forest in Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe where they and about 1,000 other Jewish people must work together as a community if they want to survive. Defiance

The script was bad, the fake accents were awful, the extras looked like extras and there was enough melodrama for three movies. It did have an interesting story and there were moments of pure cinema magic, but just for a moment. I was also expecting more from Zwick...

A very interesting story.

I liked this film and found it interesting enough. Zwick does know how to stage an action scene and I liked this film of his. Sure you did not actually see what the Nazi where doing and what this horror was outside of the forest that well but I don't think it needed to be shown because if you have any knowledge of history you know the horror outside of it. I liked to see what was going on in the camps and I liked the brother's interactions. The two main performances were great. I was interested in the story therefore I liked it.
