Extremely well cast and brilliantly acted, this movie melted my soul and made me laugh and cry. Beautiful all of the way through. The story fits the era it's set in, and is true to it's history and politics. Watching Robert Downey Jr. trip acid on graduation day is reason enough to love this film, but the spirit and dreams of Kiefer Sutherland are the heart of this film. Their families are also profoundly lovable, with a young Winona Ryder as Downey Jr.'s kid sister. This movie is just unforgettable.
