Kid friendly horror from Disney. It has all of those Disney qualities that play great to a younger audience, while also trying to be legitimately scary. The blend works in parts. The director managed some good scare scenes amidst a classic spooky atmosphere. The film sustains this aesthetic almost through it's entirety. The mystery plot is involving, despite our main kids not being the best actors. It's forgivable.

Highly campy, this movie was pretty bland, disneyfied, and predictable all the way up until the end, which was... weird. I guess the weirdness was born of the disney-need to have a happy ending in a story that was really not set up to end very happily.
