I was really expecting this movie to be terrific. And, in some ways it was. But, in most ways it was just a little bit too ridiculous for me.

A bizarre, but multi-leveled fantasy that doesn't quite get a grasp on its main characters, but provides some fascinating images along the way. Final Grade: B

Hand-Made Art

This film, as is the case with all Gondry works to date, is absolute charm and artistic-one-of-a-kind-gorgeousness.

Having been a huge fan of Bernal & Gainsbourg already, my devotion was further solidified after seeing them act in such an artistic project. Bernal in particular, displaying such vulnerability yet somehow maintaining a subtle dignity as Stephane, must have been a challenge. (Not that he was the first, but under such a modern, unique directing style, he deserves credit - what an excellent choice for...

Because you're different.

The brain it is actually the most misterious, fantastic and perfect thing in the universe. We barely use it, scientists barely understand it. And the brain, is the guilty of creating one of the most fascinating subjects: The Dreams.

Gondry really loves all this, and builds a great movie. A great movie for those that have dreams while they're sleeping, or awake. Sometimes you can't tell the difference. It has a very simply, and yet effective, love story and a pretty nice french (not hot at all to my taste) lady, that's exactly that french: pretentious and sophisticated - in opposite to her boobs ;0) -.
The movie has great visuals and memorable and hilarious lines. Michael Gondry is to me, one of my favorite directors now. Keep them comming, sir. I honestly took this one at the store, ...
