This got great reviews and it's easy to see why. Too easy. The acting is superb, the cinematography lush and it's about writers of the sort who would review films like this. There's a kind of picture book blandness here, especially when compared with Bacri's previous Le Gout des Autres, a biting tale of cultural snobbery. All we are told here is that the French literati are self obsessed wankers. Hands up those who didn't know that.
