Budd Boetticher directs this matinee adventure about a mining engineer (Chandler) trying to placate restless natives and build a new mine in the Orient. Jeff Chandler plays the tough principled lead part well and Anthony Quinn is solid as his principled if conflicted rival. The love story concludes anticlimactically though. Look for Scatman Crothers (The Shining) as the comic relief.
