Usually I find movies that are really long so boring but The Best Of Youth suprised me because it was interesting & I sat through it until the end

Our Daily Free Stream: La Meglio Gioventu. Jede Rezension von La Meglio Gioventu beginnt damit, dass Marco Tullio Giordanas Werk sechs Stunden lang ist. Dabei kann ein guter Film gar nicht lang genug sein (während ein schlimmer Film nicht schnell genug vorbei sein kann). Ich war wirklich drin in diesem Epos, befand mich ausserhalb der Zeit. Der Film wurde im Cinema Paris am Ku'damm in zwei Blöcken gezeigt und als das Licht im Saal anging, hatte ich nicht das Bedürfnis, hinauszugehen. Von mir aus hätte La Meglio Gioventu noch drei Stunden andauern dürfen. Ist es nicht so, dass die Begrenzung von zwei Stunden aus den meisten Filmen Kurzgeschichten werden lässt? Hier aber kommt ein Roman! Ein äusserst ambitionierter! Wir folgen zwei Brüdern über einen Zeitraum von über 40 Jahren. …
