Although not as thematically satisfying as other musicals, such as Singin' in the Rain, The Band Wagon is a fun, music-packed, colorful throwback from Hollywood's golden days of musicals. Astaire and Charisse share great on-screen chemistry and the film boasts some fun numbers (particularly the stylized noir-inspired piece that closes the film.) |
