After being in awe of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, I thought it natural to check out Jacques Demy's other highly regarded movie. And while I prefer the music in Cherbourg, this one is still equally captivating. The story is stronger and the way its told is remarkable. A nice appearance from Gene Kelly, the brilliant dance routines and music, and its ambiguous ending make this, along with Cherbourg, one of the best movies ever put on film.

Absolutely enchanting and amazing. One of the best musicals ever. Catherine & Francoise play sisters and they are sisters in real life too. OH JOY!!!!! Directed by: Jacques Demy
