Wonderful movie. I'm not a fan of Visconti, so this was a pleasant surprise. Since it's based on a Dostoevsky story, there have been several other film versions including Four Nights of a Dreamer.

Beautiful movie. Very artistic, sad, poetic, and enchanting...too many flattering words to describe it. This is one of the only movies I have cried at, and it is all because of the character Mario, which M M brilliantly plays.
